The old man boarded the train.
Didn't lose his temper.
Recognized new Sanskrit teacher.
"We all seven boys were returning to school by train as our vacation was over. We had got the news that a new teacher named Kalikumar Tarkalankar was appointed to teach us Sanskrit. We didn't like it. One of my friends changed the name of the new teacher and made up a rhyme called 'The sacrifice of the Black Pumpkin.' We repeated it aloud in chorus.
At Adkhola station, an elderly man boarded the train. He had with him a bedroll, two or three earthen pots, a tin trunk and a few bundles. I thought of making fun of him. I shouted at him, "No room here, Mr. Dundle Head, go to another compartment". But he said, "The whole train is crowded. I'll sit in the corner and won't trouble you". He rolled out his bed in one corner and sat there. He asked us where we were going. I retorted, "To perform the last rites of Black Pumpkin Fresh Chilli" and we started chanting the rhyme
The train stopped at Asansol. The old man got down to have a bath. When he was gone, we removed the cloth cover of his earthen pots. There were sweets in them. All of us ate all the sweets. Then we examined his bundles. We found ripe mangoes in them. We finished the mangoes too. When he returned, I told him that the rats in the compartment had eaten all his sweets and they ran off with whatever was there in the bundle. The old man did not bother about my rudeness and our pranks. He remarked, "Poor rats! They must have been famished. If I'd known that there'd be so many rats on the train, I'd have brought more." We were disappointed to find that the old man was not at all angry. It would have been fun to see him lose his temper, shout at us and threaten us.
At Bardhaman we had to change the train. The old man said that he would go to another compartment but we insisted that he should travel with us. We offered to watch his luggage. He asked us to board the train and said, "I'll come in a minute" And mummy, to our surprise, he came with a sweet vendor and handed each one of us a packet of sweets saying, "This time the rats won't go hungry". He bought mangoes and gave us the mangoes also.
We asked him where he was going. He said, "I'm on the look out for a job". He told us that he was a Sanskrit teacher. All of us were very happy. We told him that it would be great to have him in our school. But he asked, "Will the management engage me?" We replied, "They'll have to! We won't let Black Pumpkin Fresh Chilli set foot in the neighbourhood." He said, "What if the Secretary doesn't like me?" We asserted, "He'll have to-or else all of us will leave the school." Then he agreed to go with us. The train arrived at our destination and do you know dad, what we saw? The Secretary himself had come to welcome the old man. He said, "Welcome Sir, Mr Tarkalankar! Your rooms are ready". He bent down and touched his feet. Then we recogn
Lized that he was our new Sanskrit teacher!"

Ans. Too late (The tendency of obesity causes many problems)
Ramu was a poor labourer. Everyday, he worked for 8 to 10 hours and earned his daily wages. His earnings were just enough to feed his family. But he was strong and healthy.
One day while digging a pit, he found a pot full of coins buried in the ground. He secretly took it to his house. With that money he built a house for his family. He bought ten cows and started selling milk. Gradually he started producing milk products like 'pedhas, ras-malaí', etc and selling them. He became a rich businessman. Everybody called him 'Ramu Sheth'. Ramu began to lead a comfortable sedentary life. His physical work had stopped long back.
One day, his old friend Krishna, who was still a labourer, came to his shop to buy pedhas. When he looked at Ramu who was seated on the cash counter, he exclaimed, "Oh, Ramu! How fat you have grown! You should exercise daily. Do you know, obesity causes many serious problems such as blood pressure, heart trouble and diabetes, etc." Ramu Sheth was very angry with him. He retorted, "Who has given you the right to advise me? I am a successful businessman now. I know what I should do." Krishna was taken aback. He simply said, "My friend, I wanted to warn you about your future. Take care of your health, please". And he left the shop with tears in his eyes.
After some months, Ramu began to feel uneasy. He went to a doctor. The doctor said, "Stop overeating. The tendency of obesity causes many problems. Perform some exercise daily. These are the symptoms of diabetes and high blood-pressure. You should have taken care of your health, Ramu Sheth." Ramu realised his mistake. But it was too late.
